  The south sidewalk along Jefferson, Jones to Leavenworth has been poured and you may have noticed it looks great!     Patrons were using up the new sidewalks early Monday morning.         Work begins on the next block, southern sidewalk Leavenworth to Hyde. Thanks for everyone's patience and cooperation as construction moves along.

  According to the contractor, the south sidewalk- Jones to Leavenworth- will be poured today. Work began this morning on that as well as the final demo of the remaining sidewalk. There will be some finish work to be completed tomorrow morning (Saturday). Completion of the sidewalk demo for the south side of Jefferson, Jones to Leavenworth is still on hold, and will most likely begin closer to February 25th. The water main work and catch basin work, along with building the temporary pedestrian ramp took up the bulk of work this week. This means that plans to demo the sidewalk in front of the businesses (Jones-Leavenworth) is pushed back a week.   Crews will NOT be out on Monday, February 18th for the President's Day Holiday. The work to the south sidewalk on Jefferson from Jones to Leavenworth is delayed a few days. Demo work was to begin on Monday, and it looks like it will be closer to Wednesday at the earliest. Work continues on the water main installation and installing the street light bases on that block. More details will be sent out on the sidewalk demo work as soon as they are available.     Starting Monday, February 11th crews will begin demolishing the south sidewalk. All businesses can absolutely remain open during this construction as was planned. The changes to the color curb zones that were presented by the MTA at the Transportation Committee meeting on December 6th did not make it on the agenda for the February 1st hearing. We will notify you when the MTA has advised us of a new date.
At the construction meeting at 10:00am on Monday we will be discussing options for the phasing of the work for the south side of Jefferson, from Jones to Leavenworth.  If you are on this block, please attend this meeting which will be held at the FWCBD Office at 2801 Leavenworth Street, Suite B-16. Planned traffic lane change: At the end of the work day today (Friday), the traffic lane will be flipped from the south side to the north side of Jefferson Street. This will be the single lane of traffic westbound for the next few months of the project as work is performed on the south side of the street.   The work to remove and haul away the buried rail tracks will be complete today and next week crews concentrate on electrical conduit work. Today at around 12:15 p.m. construction crews hit a gas line on Jefferson Street.  This was at the mid block of Jefferson Street between Leavenworth and Jones.  PG&E crews were called immeadiatley and have since assesed the situation, stopped the leak and are curently working to restore services. As a precaution vehicle and pedestrain traffic was rerouted but pedestrain access has since been reopened.  The current estimate from PG&E is that gas services will be restored at...

  Hello, Reminder: Construction for the Jefferson Street Improvement Project begins on Wednesday, January 2nd.   The crew will be out there next week working from 7am to 3:30pm and some notable work will include:   - Parking will no longer be permitted along Jefferson, Hyde to Jones starting on January 2nd; you will see No Parking signs up soon. - Chain link fencing will be installed at the north side and water filled barriers will be setup. - Traffic control signage will be installed. ...
